My Approach

My focus is on providing personalized care. Every appointment is tailored to your individual needs and your physicians' areas of concern. This might involve investigating the origins of early-onset heart disease, finding opportunities to optimize and decrease medications, exploring weight loss strategies, or genetic screening for familial conditions. For those managing heart and kidney diseases, my goal is to collaboratively find treatment options to maximize your health and protect quality of life.

At times, patients find themselves navigating a maze of medications, many of which aggravate other conditions. For instance, some diabetes medications lead to weight gain, which in turn exacerbate issues like blood pressure, cholesterol and heart risk. My approach is to break from this counterproductive cycle. We now have options to address multiple health issues with fewer medications, treating each patient holistically. This approach aligns with all major national and international clinical practice guidelines.

I also understand that managing the cost of healthcare is an important aspect of patient care. Most of the medications we use are well-covered by insurance. Moreover, I strive to help patients leverage various programs that can lower medication costs, whether you have commercial insurance or Medicare.

Importantly, I operate in conjunction with your existing healthcare team, which may include your primary care physician, endocrinologist, cardiologist, dietitian, nephrologist, and others. I take into account your medical history, current treatments, and future health interests to enhance your overall care strategy. My role is not to replace any of these essential fields, but rather to work together to focus on your priorities.
